Claire Miller

Claire Miller is an experienced television drama writer specialising in returning series and character-led drama.

She is currently part of the core writing team on BBC’s CASUALTY, where she has written multiple episodes including the show’s 30th anniversary finale. Claire has written across several series of CBBC’s THE DUMPING GROUND and THE WORST WITCH, and has also written episodes of HOLBY CITY and EASTENDERS. Internationally she has written across two series of tween period drama THEODOSIA for Cottonwood Media, ZDF and HBO Max.

Claire has developed original projects for television, including two original ideas optioned by Clerkenwell Films, and continues to work on new original drama projects alongside her returning series work.

Earlier in her career she worked extensively as a script editor and storyliner, including on STELLA for Tidy Productions and on series such as EMMERDALE, CASUALTY, YOUNG DRACULA and THE BILL, before moving into screenwriting full time.

Her original radio drama NOW, WHERE WERE WE? aired on BBC Radio 4, and she also wrote digital content for CBBC drama HARRIET’S ARMY.

Alongside her writing career Claire works as a Script Consultant at Screenology Film School, running their Writers’ Programme and mentoring writers on the Scriptwriting BA at the University of Bolton.

Claire holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Scriptwriting for Radio and Television.
