Anna McRoberts is an Emmy-nominated film and television writer, director, showrunner, and producer. A renowned and innovative creator of content for the whole family, Anna is an expert in initiating and delivering high-quality and globally successful entertainment.
Anna is the co-creator, writer, and producer of the all-time top grossing live-action direct-to-video franchise – the 9-movie Air Buddies franchise – which sold 40 million units for Disney. She is also the writer and producer of over 20 other family films for major studios including Disney, Miramax, Warner Brothers, and Fox.
Anna created and directed Pup Academy, a 22-episode series that premiered on the Disney Channel, and then was globally released as a Netflix Original in 2020. Pup Academy was a top ten series on Netflix in the US, a rare distinction for a children’s series, as well as top ten in many international markets.
Most recently, Anna created and directed two all-new Netflix Original Limited Series – the critically-acclaimed Scaredy Cats which launched October 2021, and Phantom Pups which launched September 2022 and directed two episodes including the season finale of the new show “Our Big Punjabi Family.”
Anna also currently serves as Chief Content Officer of Air Bud Entertainment, a fully-integrated entertainment company focused on the creation and distribution of positive content for families worldwide. Anna oversees the development, production, and marketing of the company’s content and has been integral in generating over 1B in content revenue for the brand’s distribution partners.
Anna is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Harvard Business School, is an alum of the UCLA Professional Screenwriting Program, and a fellow of the prestigious Directing Workshop for Women at AFI, where she has also taught. She is also a member of Young Presidents Organization where she serves in various leadership positions.
She resides between California, and the west coast of Canada, and holds US, CDN, and UK passports.
